Spitfire Radio arrived online in July 2010 to serve the community of Castle Vale & North Birmingham. We are also VERY proud to be able to reach many parts of the world in the online radio community.
As a result of this, the presenters regularly have correspondence from listeners way beyond its prime target area.
Broadcasting 24 hours a day, you will find programmes featuring all genres of music. From rock to pop and country to jazz and blues there's something to suit almost everyone.
Along with our partners we also regularly broadcast the latest international, national, & local news along with a balence of celebrity interviews, new/unsigned artists and much, much more…
Spitfire Radio was conceived as a small hobby but has evolved into a non-profit making Community Interest Company (cic.
We have had to rely on various sources for funding but hard work, love and the loyalty of the Spitfire Radio staff makes it continue to run successfully.
The name of our station is taken from the area of North East Birmingham very close to a factory where Spitfire aeroplanes were made. During the Second World War they played an integral role in maintaining our freedom. Whilst we are so proud of our Midlands heritage, we are pro-active in publicising all things UK based.
Thank you for taking the time to read about us.
